I have to admit I did not take this picture on Saturday! But I had a really enjoyable day catching up with our Customers most of which I hadn't seen for at least a month, Thank you all for supporting us. The first Home Farm Shop delivery run was a great success despite my sat-nav letting me down after only three deliveries, I got to know Clevedon and the surrounding area really well, what a great place amazing houses, loved it! Finally got my phone to come up with a map, upside down, so I got to everyone in the end. Next months Delivery is on Saturday 6th June, I am hoping it will be a sunny day so that I can repeat my stroll on the gorgeous Clevedon Pier.

Thank you to everyone who attended or helped at The Butleigh Beer Festival over the Bank Holiday Weekend, but most of all Thank you to the weather for being kind to us! We had an amazing time with BBQs and Hog Roasts, Thank you for all your amazing comments and feed back, to the guy who was attempting to eat his way (on Friday) through every type of burger & hot dog we had, did you make it & did you return for the Hog Roast on Saturday? i think you were on your 4th variety when I left!
Just as the weather turns good we start our winter preparations, plough and plant for winter fodder! Maize for the cattle, as if that wasn't bad enough the Christmas geese are due any time now!!!
Rather a long time since my last post. It's getting wet and muddy, Turkeys are growing well, Christmas bacon is going into cure, not long to go now.
Today we are making Faggots, can't wait for supper! Long time since my last entry! Building up for Christmas now, what fun! The turkeys and geese are doing well and the Christmas beef is hanging, place your orders asap to guarantee your requirements.
I have two beautiful little calves I am bottle feeding, Molly and Sheep Cow (it has a curly coat!) more being born all the time. The horses are now in at night 6 months of mucking out and trudging in and out to the field every day! Harvesting finished! but staw to get in still, cattle gone to market and calves being born, ploughing started, talk about going around in circles!
Still going strong with Harvesting inbetween the rain! The turkeys have arrived, what with that and x factor starting Christmas must be just around the corner! Still on our guard against rogues and thieves, so much so that the police got called for an intruder late on wednesday night that turned out to be my nephew looking for something in the workshop!
Harvey started harvesting this week. Maralyn (the dear old combine) started with reluctance after nearley a year of inactivity, went 300 yards and broke in three places! She's off again now and I believe is behaving.
Ploughing began yesterday, I'm not sure how much got done but BT,the tractor, is now in the workshop with a pucture! The Christmas Geese have arrived, and the Turkeys are due this week, we may have a fox problem though judging by the pile of feathers that appeared in the yard overnight, not sure which chicken is missing yet will find out at bedtime. We had a theft from the horses field this week which is really sad, but at least it wasn't one of the horses. More successful competition results this week with a first for Ella in the combined training at Naydon. |
